Belmont County approves equipment and service purchases for roads and county jail

On April 22 the Belmont County Board of Commissioners approved several equipment purchases and a service renewal intended to maintain county road operations and the county jail.
The board approved purchase of a 2027 International dump truck cab and chassis from Rush Truck Center for $113,748.14 and a Dump Body Snow and Ice Control equipment package from Concord Road Equipment for $128,129.03; both purchases will be paid from the county’s K13 (Equipment) funds and were made through State of Ohio cooperative purchasing contracts based on the recommendation of Belmont County Engineer Terry Lively.
Commissioners also approved a $4,600 quote from Johnson Boiler Works, Inc. to replace 4-inch main water gate valves at the Belmont County Jail and authorized a $9,540 annual renewal with Johnson Controls for the jail’s fire alarm test and inspection covering April 1, 2026–March 31, 2027.
