Hancock County approves 9‑1‑1 maintenance renewal and authorizes enhanced system paid from 9‑1‑1 funds

Hancock County commissioners on April 28 approved two contracts with Intrado Life & Safety, Inc. to support the county's 9‑1‑1 communications system.
The first resolution authorized continuation and renewal of maintenance services for the county's 9‑1‑1 system through October 2026 at a cost of $48,055.16. The second approved a five‑year enhanced 9‑1‑1 system installation and maintenance package totaling $558,031.44; commissioners were told there is no payment required for the first year and that the project will be paid from 9‑1‑1 funds.
"It will provide translation and cloud access," said Deputy Mark Price, describing two capabilities the enhanced system will add.
Both resolutions passed unanimously, with William Bateson making the motions and Timothy Bechtol seconding. Phil Johnson presented the agreements and confirmed funding will come from the county's 9‑1‑1 account.
The board did not identify additional local general‑fund expenditures tied to the contracts during the meeting.
