Commissioners approve routine appropriations, change orders and planning contract; jail chiller grant accepted

The meeting record shows Commissioner Jeffrey Hunker called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. and that Commissioner William Bateson moved to approve the April 7 minutes and the Warrant Journal; both motions were seconded by Commissioner Timothy Bechtol and approved 3-0.

Each resolution was presented by the assistant clerk and approved by roll call vote 3-0.
The board also approved Resolution #236-26, a Change Order #1 to the contract with Midwest Contracting, Inc. under a State of Ohio Community Development Block Grant (PY2024 CDBG) to repair and rehabilitate the Hancock County ADAMHS Board building in Findlay. Phil Johnson said the change order covers revised drawings required for submission to Wood County and replacement of a water and sanitary line; the change order amount is $28,172.04. Commissioner Bateson moved to approve; the vote was 3-0.
Phil Johnson presented Resolution #237-26, authorizing the execution of a Local Jail Capital Project Grant Agreement related to replacement of the Hancock County jail’s chiller unit; Johnson said the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction will supply $500,000 toward the project. The commissioners approved the grant agreement 3-0. Johnson also presented Resolution #238-26 to contract with County FIRM, LLC for a comprehensive capital plan and forecast at a cost of $65,000; the commission approved that contract 3-0.
The meeting record indicates all motions listed above were moved by Commissioner William Bateson and seconded by Commissioner Timothy Bechtol, with recorded votes of 3-0 in favor. The commissioners did not attach conditions to these approvals in the minutes.
