Hancock County signs recycling coordination agreement with Findlay; staff to pursue cameras and textile-bin options at Recycling Hub

Hancock County commissioners on March 3 approved a memorandum of agreement with the City of Findlay to coordinate recycling efforts and provide county recycling bins, and discussed operations at the county Recycling Hub.
Cindy Land presented Resolution #126-26 authorizing the intergovernmental MOA; the Board approved the resolution 3-0. Commissioner Jeffrey Hunker expressed appreciation for cooperation with the city.
At a staff meeting later in the morning, Courtney O'Flaherty updated the Board on Recycling Hub operations: she said the public still needs clearer guidance on what materials are accepted, illegal dumping remains an ongoing problem, and staff will solicit quotes to add more cameras to deter dumping. O'Flaherty also said she would investigate placing textile donation bins on county-owned property and will check zoning with Marion and Liberty townships before proceeding. Commissioner Tim Bechtol will be at the Hub on Friday, March 6 from 1:00–3:00 p.m. to answer public recycling questions.
