Commissioners approve routine motions, personnel changes and an ambulance donation; enter executive session

The Lawrence County commissioners on Feb. 24 approved a set of routine agenda items, several personnel changes and a donation of county equipment. The board also voted to meet in executive session to discuss real estate and legal contracts.
The actions the commissioners approved included:
- Approval of corrected minutes for Feb. 17, 2026 (motion moved and seconded; recorded affirmative votes from the commissioners present).
- Approval of flood plain permits submitted by the Swan Water Conservation District (motion moved and seconded; recorded affirmative votes from the commissioners present).
- Approval of appropriations and transfers dated 02/24/2026 under $75,000 submitted by Dylan Bentley, county administrator (motion moved and seconded; recorded affirmative votes from the commissioners present).
- Approval of appropriations for the 911 operating fund (motion moved and seconded; recorded affirmative votes from the commissioners present).
- Approval of appropriations for the Board of DD fund (motion moved and seconded; recorded affirmative votes from the commissioners present).
- Receipt and filing of the county auditor's certificate that appropriations from each fund do not exceed the official estimate of resources (motion moved and seconded; recorded affirmative votes from the commissioners present).
- Receipt and filing of the Lawrence County Department of Job and Family Services monthly report (December 2025) (motion moved and seconded; recorded affirmative votes from the commissioners present).
- Personnel changes approved as listed on the agenda: David Peer and William Smith (resignations, full-time EMTs); Caitlin Carver (termination of employment, part-time paramedic, agenda listed "effective 02/1726"); and the conversion of Annabel Liles from part-time to full-time EMT. The board approved the personnel motions as presented.
- Approval to donate a 2011 McCoy Miller ambulance (VIN 1FDWE3FS5BDA01979) to the village of Cole Grove.
- Approval and signature of a liquor permit request for Casa Grande Inc., 25 Township (1429 West in Southpointe).
- Appointment of Michael Boster to a new three-year term on the Lawrence County Planning Commission, effective 03/01/2026 through 02/28/2029.
- Approval and signature of a work experience program contract with the Department of Job and Family Services (DJFS).
Finally, the board voted to meet in executive session with the county administrator to discuss real estate and legal contracts.
