The meeting opened with roll call and a brief invocation led by a student; President Deanna Holliday read a proclamation declaring May 2026 Small Business Week in Lawrence County and praised local business supports. “Small businesses are the backbone of the American economy, driving innovation, creating jobs, and strengthening communities,” Holliday said while reading the proclamation, which acknowledged the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce for local support.
