Administrator Soderholm told the board that two firms submitted bids but that the pricing was not competitive and was substantially higher than projections. Trustee Steve Knar moved to proceed with a vote on awarding the 2023 sidewalk improvement bids and Trustee Andrew Migdal seconded. The roll-call recorded Trustees Jennifer Curtiss, Steve Knar, Andrew Migdal and Kirsten Wall voting "no," and the motion failed.
The minutes record that staff and the village engineer recommended re-bidding the project in early 2024; the board did not approve an award or commit funds for the project at this meeting.
