Mobile County Parks launches new website; ribbon-cutting set for Bayfront Park boardwalk

Mobile County Parks officials introduced a new consolidated parks website, mobilecountyparks.com, at the commission's May 8 conference meeting and said the site will centralize park information, reservations and a community events calendar.
Sheree, who presented the announcements, said the site aggregates more than 20 park assets and includes sections for sports parks, trails, events, and a future merchandise store. She called the launch a "soft launch" and said the county will begin promoting the site over the summer.
The commission also heard that Bayfront Park's boardwalk — which was damaged by hurricanes Zeta and Sally — has been rebuilt using grant funding and Go Mesa support. Commissioners said a ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. the next day to mark the reopening, with a short recognition of Commissioner Chris Blankenship and Governor Kay Ivey for support on multiple county projects.
County staff encouraged residents to visit the new site for event listings and reservations. The conference discussion included praise for the site and logistics about the upcoming ribbon-cutting; the site and event details will be finalized in advance of broader promotion.
