Staff report: Deer Creek Marsh, Pulaski drainage, invasive species and training progress

District staff reported progress on Deer Creek Marsh and Pulaski drainage projects, continued agricultural assessments, planning for Sandy Creek 9E, invasive species work on water chestnut and hemlock woolly adelgid, training activities, and tree sale orders totaling about $6,700 so far.
Staff provided updates on project work, training and outreach at the Feb. 10 Oswego County Soil and Water Conservation District meeting.
Conservation Aide Ben Gephard reported on Deer Creek Marsh—staff have been contacting soil-boring companies and engineers, drafted bids for soil borings and a boardwalk (awaiting revision by JC), and are researching soils and construction materials. Gephard also reported progress on the Pulaski drainage project, including estimates of BMP sizes and draft bid preparation, and said he has completed six agricultural assessments and is working on two more.
