Linden Board approves committee motions; president recuses on one personnel item

At its April 28 meeting the Linden Board of Education approved a series of committee motions covering education, buildings and grounds, finance and personnel matters. Each motion was presented, seconded and carried by roll call.

The education committee moved to approve items 1 through 35 as recommended by the superintendent and assistant superintendents; the board recorded affirmative roll-call votes, with the board president noting she would recuse herself from item 8-18. The buildings and grounds committee approved items 1 through 9; the finance committee approved items 1 through 44; and the personnel committee approved appointments and reappointments numbered 1 through 24 (all appointments noted as contingent upon sufficient state school aid and other funding).

Roll-call responses recorded in the transcript show board members voting "yes" for the motions as read. The meeting record also shows the board moved into an executive session before completing personnel business.

No contested defeats or tablings were recorded in the public transcript; where a member recused on a discrete item (the president on item 8-18), the transcript notes the recusal in the roll call.
