Lucas County approves $34,210 vehicle buyouts for sanitary department under equity lease

Sanitary engineer Nate Incrat presented the request and said the purchase would move the vehicles from leased status to county ownership. Incrat described three units at one per‑unit amount and a fourth at a different per‑unit figure; staff repeatedly referenced the $34,210.29 total buyout figure during discussion.
Commissioners asked clarifying questions about lease length, model year and the apparent variation in per‑unit buyout amounts. Staff said the leases had been five years and that the trucks were model year 2021; the request was to buy the trucks out so the county would own them outright. The chair moved to approve the buyouts and the clerk conducted a roll call; commissioners voted to approve the action.
County staff will complete administrative steps to record ownership and update the fleet inventory.
