Lucas County approves $24.74 million appropriation tied to U.S. DOT grant

"The correct amount is 24,740,000," Sherry Crane said when she presented the appropriation request, which county staff said will allow the county to appropriate funds related to a roughly $24,000,000 grant the county engineer received from the U.S. Department of Transportation and to provide the engineer’s office cash match.
Commissioners voted to approve the appropriation resolution by roll call. County staff did not provide additional project-specific details in the meeting; the appropriation was described as necessary to accept and allocate the federal grant and the local match.
Next steps: OMB and the engineer’s office will process the appropriation and follow applicable grant acceptance procedures.
