Lucas County commissioners approve ODOT salt participation, final plat and sanitary contracts

At their March 31, 2026 meeting, the Lucas County Commissioners approved routine procurement and land-use items including participation in the Ohio Department of Transportation bulk rock-salt contract, final plat approval for Legacy Business Park and several sanitary and solid-waste agreements and purchases.
Engineer Panuski described item 3 as the countys annual opportunity to participate in ODOT's bulk rock-salt agreement; the county may request up to 8,000 tons and pays as it uses product acquired under the contract. The board approved participation.
Panuski then described the final plat for Legacy Business Park (Montclova Township), a replat that splits one lot into two; commissioners had no questions and approved the final plat.
Sanitary engineer Nate Ingram presented items 5 through 8: private agreements for sanitary sewer and water supply lines for Bridge Creek Plat 7 and Village at 12 Lakes Plat 5 (Sylvania Township); permission to advertise for replacement drop-off recycling containers under the solid-waste management district; and authority to enter an agreement with Iwerks Systems for an asset-management and internal facilities work-order system. Ingram said the Iwerks subscription would be about $35,000 per year with a $7,000 one-time setup fee. Commissioner Gerken moved approval of those items and the clerk recorded affirmative votes from the commissioners.
All votes on the listed items were recorded in the clerks roll call as yes votes by Commissioner Cebecchi, Commissioner Gerken and Commissioner Lopez.
The board adjourned to April 14, 2026.
