Grant County commissioners approve routine claims, surplus resolutions and ARPA reconciliation payment

Keith McClure, vice-chair of the Grant County Board of County Commissioners, and Commissioner Craig A. Fredrick on Monday approved a slate of routine claims, contracts and resolutions at the board’s regular meeting in Medford, Okla. Chair Steve Stinson was absent.
The board heard a proclamation from Emily Franke of OSU Extension declaring May 3–9, 2026, as Oklahoma Home and Community Education Week. Franke presented the proclamation and the county noted the extension committee provided breakfast for attendees.
The commissioners voted unanimously on a series of procedural items. Craig A. Fredrick moved to approve blanket purchase orders; McClure seconded and the motion carried (McClure — aye; Fredrick — aye). The board likewise approved purchase orders and travel claims covering multiple funds (General, Highway, Health, ARPA and others) and a long list of vendors recorded in the minutes.
Fredrick moved and McClure seconded approval of the 2026 SAFE Oklahoma Grant Program contract for the sheriff’s department (the contract was signed Jan. 27, 2026); the motion passed. The board also approved reimbursement requests of $3,375.00 to the Election Board secretary for April 2026 and $320.02 to the District Attorney for April 2026.
The commissioners approved an ODOT claim for Grant County right-of-way parcels 1 and 2 (JP 29862(04)) and accepted the Grant County Bridge Inspection invoice (CED-LG-2449C). They also acknowledged the April 2026 jail report.
Two county resolutions affecting Health Department furniture were adopted: Resolution 2026-43 declared multiple workstations and related items surplus property, and Resolution 2026-44 authorized disposal or transfer of those items to other county departments. Both passed on unanimous recorded votes.
On American Rescue Plan Act reconciliation, the board approved payment of $4,535.07 to the U.S. Department of Treasury to cover the difference between obligated ARPA funds and expenditures; the minutes note $989.43 in interest belongs to the county and will be deposited into the General Contingency Fund.
District activity reports were brief: McClure said District 1 crews were hauling river gravel and shale, tuning mowers and spraying right-of-ways; Fredrick noted District 2 operations were “business as usual” and that District 3 had serviced the county mower. At 9:26 a.m. Fredrick moved to adjourn; McClure seconded and the meeting was closed. The minutes were signed and approved May 6, 2026.
