Grant County BOCC approves routine purchases, proclaims Crime Victims' Rights Week and acknowledges small property resales to Medford

The Grant County Board of Commissioners approved a slate of routine financial, personnel and procedural items on April 20, 2026, including a proclamation recognizing National Crime Victims' Rights Week, multiple purchase orders and vendor payments, a small donation, and two property resales to the City of Medford.
The board unanimously approved Resolution 2026-42 proclaiming April 19–25, 2026 as National Crime Victims' Rights Week. Tallena Hart, Assistant District Attorney, described the theme for the year as "Listen, Act, Advocate, Protect Victims, Serve Communities" and noted local victim‑assistance staff member Rexanne Kretchmar’s role in supporting victims in Grant County.
The board also approved a transfer of appropriations and blanket purchase orders and accepted a package of purchase orders and travel claims covering departments including ambulance services, fair improvements, general fund items, health, highway, rural fire and sheriff funds. The minutes list many vendors and line items; the board approved the claims by unanimous vote.
Other actions recorded in the minutes: approval of minutes from the April 13, 2026 BOCC regular meeting; approval of Resolution 2026-41 recording a $500 donation from Norman Neilson designated to District 3; approval of a special payroll item for Devon Compton (OPEH&W additional life — employee portion $11.00); and authorization for storm debris cleanup assistance (OCCEDB) for District 3.
During the meeting the board acknowledged the sale, by default of resale, of Lot 6 Block 70 of Rock Island Addition for $200 and Lots 19–21 Block 70 of Rock Island Addition for $500 to the City of Medford. The motion to acknowledge the property resale passed unanimously.
The minutes do not include extended discussion or dissent on these items; each motion passed with recorded votes of Stinson — aye; McClure — aye; Fredrick — aye. The meeting adjourned at 9:36 a.m., briefly reconvened later to sign a temporary road use agreement with Southern Power, then adjourned again at 9:46 a.m.
