Commissioners approve property transfer and several agreements tied to new Criminal Justice Authority; several MOUs tabled pending DA review

At its March 23 meeting the Kingfisher County Board of County Commissioners advanced several administrative steps tied to the newly formed Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Authority.

Commissioners approved the transfer of county property to the Criminal Justice Authority and authorized retrieval of personnel records from the Sheriff’s Department to the authority. They also approved a Memorandum of Understanding between the county’s Information & Technology Department and the Criminal Justice Authority and approved a consulting agreement between the authority’s jail trust and law firm Storm & Hauser, P.C. The board approved distribution of incarceration fees at the same meeting.

Several related agreements were tabled for further legal review. The board voted to table the Operation, Maintenance and Administration Agreement and a Memorandum of Understanding between the Board on behalf of the Sheriff’s Department and the Criminal Justice Authority, and later tabled an MOU between the county Safety Department and the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Jail Trust Authority pending approval from the district attorney’s office. All floor votes recorded in the minutes on these items were unanimous (Moss, Sparks, Schwarz recorded as Yes where votes were recorded).
