The Williams County Board of Commissioners reviewed a staff recommendation to award the Stryker elevated water tower and control-panel replacement project to L & T Painting for $588,800 but agreed to pause the award pending schedule confirmation.
Clerk (S2) presented Resolution 208 and said Maumee Valley sent a recommendation to award the quote to L & T Painting for $588,800. Commissioner (S3) asked whether the contract or award documents include a completion date and urged staff to confirm the contractor’s willingness to meet a shorter timeline. "You will award it with the stipulation you're going to get it done by this date," Commissioner (S3) said, and recommended staff call the contractor to pre-negotiate if necessary.
Staff member (S8) said contract documents at the award stage often lack a formal completion-date clause but that the notice-to-proceed and completion date would be spelled out in the contract. Commissioners discussed pausing to obtain that confirmation and to avoid awarding a contract to a bidder who cannot meet a required schedule. The board agreed to pause the award to allow staff to confirm the contractor can meet an acceptable completion date and to return with answers by Thursday.
No final contract was executed at the meeting; the award recommendation was held pending staff verification of schedule commitments.
