The council confirmed several appointments by voice vote, including Nicole Kowalski to the Facility Governing Board; Alexandra Burt to the Emergency Management Executive Committee; Dr. Christy Waite to the Child Fatality Review Board; Tim Longworth and Tim Davidson to the Ohio Children's Trust Fund Regional Prevention Council; Alicia (Alisa) Benedict O'Brien to the Public Defender Commission; and Catherine Van Horn to the Criminal Justice Advisory Board.

The body approved the publication and legal notices for proposed public improvements: the Springfield Lake Outlet County Ditch 45 Improvements Project (final hearing set for June 8) and the Copley Ditch County Ditch Number 38 Improvements Project (final hearing set for June 15), both pursuant to Ohio Revised Code section 6131.16.
Council confirmed several procurement and construction awards presented as routine legislation: a construction contract with Parent Asphalt and Concrete for the Summit County regional concrete pavement repair project (amount not to exceed $593,719); a construction contract with Protect A Coat Incorporated for the county crack-sealing program (amount not to exceed $162,031.14); a construction contract with Carville Companies Inc. for an Akron'Cleveland Road sanitary sewer extension (amount not to exceed $2,325,000); a cooperative funding agreement with the village of Lakemore for sanitary sewer rehabilitation (amount not to exceed $321,705); and several professional services renewals and design service awards (amounts specified in the agenda).
A late-filed resolution authorizing the executive, subject to the board of control, to procure liability, boiler and machinery, property and other insurance coverage for a one-year term was adopted; the procurement authorized payment through Wickard Insurance Services Inc. doing business as Wickard in an amount not to exceed $2,266,239.15.
The council also authorized a real estate purchase agreement with the Summit County Land Reutilization Corporation for partial county parcel 0209872 at 2525 State Road in Cuyahoga Falls for $480,000 to return the parcel to productive use.
