Mesa County OKs amendment allowing public health director to sign revenue-only contracts

The Mesa County Board of Commissioners on Jan. 6 approved Amendment No. 1 to the intergovernmental agreement between the county and the Mesa County Board of Health to permit the public health executive director to sign strictly revenue contracts.
"I’m here this morning to ask the board's consideration to adopt an amendment to our intergovernmental agreement that would allow the executive director to sign strictly revenue contracts only," said Erin Minerath, interim executive director of Mesa County Public Health. She said the change is intended to improve flexibility and efficiency; revenue contracts would continue to go through the county’s fiscal risk and compliance review process.
Todd Star, the Mesa County attorney, told the board that the board and board of health will hold a joint meeting on Jan. 20 to review the IGA in greater depth, but that the health department needed the amendment to move forward with some items.
Board members expressed support for the amendment and thanked public health staff for their work. With no public comment, the motion to approve the amendment carried 3-0.
