Commissioner Old moved to accept the lowest and best bid; Commissioner Shoffner seconded the motion. The Board voted unanimously to approve the contract award on roll call.
The decision follows routine engineer review and is intended to upgrade aging distribution infrastructure along Route 6 and improve system reliability. The Board did not discuss a construction start date at the meeting.
Next steps: county staff will proceed with contract execution and scheduling with the awarded contractor; the Board did not specify an expected notice-to-proceed date at the meeting.
