PONDERA COUNTY, Mont. — At a June 12 public hearing, the Pondera County Compensation Board reviewed salary-comparison data and recommended an increase of up to 3.5% for elected officials for the 2025–26 fiscal year.
Clerk & Recorder Kody Farkell presented a worksheet comparing salaries with other counties, the City of Conrad and the local school district; the minutes note the National cost-of-living adjustment for fiscal 2026 is 2.9%. Compensation Board members Chris Torgerson and Dana Davis moved and seconded the recommendation after discussion that referenced rising insurance, fuel and equipment replacement costs as budget pressures.
