PONDERA COUNTY, Mont. — CASA informed Pondera County commissioners that a significant portion of the nonprofit’s federal funding was not renewed and requested $5,000 in the next budget year to support mileage for advocates.
Rob Cook, identified in the minutes as a CASA representative, brought the request during the June 11 meeting and said the funds would help pay mileage for advocates to visit each child twice per month. Commissioners took the request under consideration during the budget process.
At the June 18 meeting, the board approved donating $5,000 to CASA for fiscal year 2025–26. Commissioner Zane Drishinski moved to approve the donation; Commissioner Thomas Kuka seconded and the motion carried.
