Murrysville council continues liquor-license hearing after published address error

The Municipality of Murrysville continued a public hearing on the proposed transfer of liquor license R16586 after staff discovered the published notice listed the incorrect premises address.

Council President opened the hearing on May 6 to consider an application by C and M Hospitality LLC to transfer the license from 1240 South Main Street, Greensburg, to a proposed location on William Penn Highway in Murrysville. Michael Nestico, speaking on behalf of the municipality, summarized the applicant's plan to operate a full-service restaurant with about 100 seats, outdoor seating and roughly 40 employees, and described proposed hours for dinner, brunch and future lunch service.

The record showed a discrepancy between the address printed in the public notice and the address in the application materials. As Council President stated, "The notice identified the proposed transfer location at 4425 William Penn Highway. The correct address is 4420 William Penn Highway, Murrysville." To ensure accurate public notice and preserve the integrity of the hearing process, the council decided to continue and re-advertise the matter; no testimony or evidence on the merits was taken at the May 6 meeting. Michael Nestico added that the applicant acknowledged the error and agreed to cover the cost of re-advertising.

The hearing was continued to Wednesday, June 3, 2026, subject to the municipality's formal public-notice requirements, including the 14-day publication window cited by staff. The council recorded the procedural action and closed the public-hearing segment for the evening.

Next steps: staff will re-advertise the hearing with the corrected address and the council will reconvene the hearing on the new date; the record will include any applicant witnesses or counsel who attend at that time.
