Alabaster City Board approves student out-of-state trips, Resolution 2026-02 and contract with The Learning Tree

The board unanimously approved superintendent-recommended out-of-state field trips: March 27–29, 2026, SCGC Championships in Bowling Green, Kentucky (THS); April 24–28, 2026, DECA International Career Development Conference in Atlanta, Georgia (THS); May 8, 2026, Medieval Times/Aquarium trip in Georgia (TMS); and July 14–16, 2026, UCA Cheer Camp in LaGrange, Georgia (TMS). The motion to approve the trips was made by Mr. Derek Henderson and seconded by Ms. Misty Johnson.
The board also approved Resolution 2026-02 on a motion by Dr. John Myrick, seconded by Ms. Misty Johnson; the minutes record the vote as unanimously approved.
Separately, the board accepted the superintendent’s recommendation to approve an agreement with The Learning Tree, Inc. The motion was made by Ms. Misty Johnson and seconded by Dr. John Myrick. The minutes record a yes vote for Mr. Adam Moseley; for the other members the minutes state “Vote Not Recorded.” The minutes provide no further detail about the unrecorded votes.
The board approved the March 16, 2026 inventory deletions request and accepted the February 28, 2026 financial statements, payroll, bank reconciliations and Pay App #63. Both motions were moved by Dr. John Myrick, seconded by Ms. Misty Johnson, and recorded as unanimously approved.
The meeting opened at 5:00 p.m. at the Alabaster City Board of Education office and adjourned after the items above were completed. No public comments were recorded.
