County representatives introduced Cox executives; Kevin Monroe (Cox) and Maureen Tartaglione (government and public affairs) described local digital‑inclusion activities including a pilot to provide public Wi‑Fi hotspots and a $5,000 grant to the Partnership for Strong Families to purchase laptops and tablets for after‑school enrichment and to expand adult computer training. "This grant will primarily be used by the Partnership for Strong Families to purchase laptops and tablets for the children in the after school enrichment program," Tartaglione said.
County ITS installed necessary hardware and Cox donated Internet service. Officials said the pilot will inform future county‑led efforts to address the digital divide.
