Jennifer Swisher, director of emergency communications, told commissioners the 9‑1‑1 center recently was reaccredited by the International Academy of Emergency Dispatch and announced recognition for staff. Swisher introduced Mary Stockett as telecommunicator of the year and asked the board to join in congratulating her: "Please join us in congratulating Mary Stockett on this well deserved recognition as Berkeley County's telecommunicator of the year," she said. The commission also presented a lifetime achievement recognition to Paula Wilson for long service to the center; colleagues offered personal tributes highlighting Wilson’s mentorship and dedication.
The proclamations and awards were adopted and presented during the meeting; commissioners paused the agenda for photos and then returned to business.
