The Berkeley County Commission approved a series of personnel status changes and two board reappointments during its meeting.
President (speaking as the commission chair) read a package of personnel items including promotions, salary adjustments and resignations across multiple departments. Items announced included an IT Specialist 3 appointment for Christopher Willingham (salary noted in the record), telecommunicator salary adjustments after completion of training, step increases for sheriff’s personnel, and several retroactive salary adjustments. Letters of resignation were read into the record for Michelle Mitchell (administrative assistant, sheriff’s office, effective April 8, 2026), Natasha Bridal (IT Specialist 2, effective April 9, 2026) and Brady Hemp (deputy, effective April 8, 2026). The president characterized the package as “a rather lengthy change of status” and read the details aloud to the commission.
The commission also considered appointments and reappointments. Commissioners moved and approved reappointing Scott McEvoy to the Board of Zoning Appeals and reappointing Elaine Bartleson to the Eastern Panhandle Region 9 board; both motions carried by voice vote and were noted as approved for the record.
The actions were taken as part of the consent and administrative agenda; no substantive debate or separate amendments to the personnel items were reported. The commission did not record roll-call tallies for individual personnel items beyond the voice approvals recorded in the meeting minutes.
