Saguache County seeks grant options to support dental clinic upgrades

Saguache County Administrator Wendi Maez updated the board on the Saguache Dental Clinic at the Jan. 6 meeting, saying outreach has continued to recruit a hygienist and that a site visit by a hygienist will be scheduled. The board authorized Grant Writer Linda Eickoff to research eligibility for any Colorado Department of Health Care Policy & Financing grants that might fund dental-technology upgrades for the clinic.
Maez told the board she would schedule a site visit and update clinic contacts Perez and Becky Heart. The board also asked the grant writer to report back on potential grant timelines and eligibility so the county can plan for grant-based and local funding of mitigation and improvements.
