Bradford County approves personnel moves, contracts, grants and a $37,500 match for a comprehensive-plan update

At the March 26 meeting, Bradford County Commissioners approved a series of routine but substantive operational items: personnel transfers and hires in the corrections department, renewals for park supervisors, contract amendments including one to comply with new FCC inmate-phone rules, grant acceptance and letters of support for local education and infrastructure projects, and a county commitment of match funds for a comprehensive plan update.
A motion by Commissioner McLinko, seconded by Commissioner Gates and recorded "aye," approved the transfers of Thane Buckley Camacho, Keith Chilson, Charles DeWalt and Steven Kutt to full-time corrections officer positions effective March 22, 2026, and the hire of Cody Grimes as a part-time corrections officer effective March 16, 2026. The Salary Board later recorded specific pay rates: FT corrections officers $17.75/hr and the PT hire $15.00/hr; Brookelynn Harris was approved as Enforcement Officer at $17.59/hr and Leandra (Landra) Polzella as Court Monitor at $16.08/hr.
The board renewed park supervisor agreements for Sunfish Pond and Hornbrook County Parks and approved an amendment to the county’s inmate-phone Master Services Agreement with Smart Communications to align with recent Federal Communications Commission rules. The commissioners also approved amendments to Children & Youth Services and Drug & Alcohol provider agreements and accepted the 2025–2026 Juvenile Probation Program Grant in the amount of $62,371. The board approved letters of support for Grace Christian Academy, Epiphany School and St. Agnes for PCCD targeted non-public school safety grants and a letter supporting Troy Borough’s sewer project grant application.
Commissioners authorized submission of an application to the Pennsylvania Municipal Assistance Program to update Bradford County’s Comprehensive Plan and committed $37,500 in municipal match funds for that project under Resolution 2026-07 (also adopted). The board approved a Memorandum of Understanding with Western Alliance and a consultant-services agreement with Tom Hill for the Assessment Office.
Appointments made under court order were recorded: Brookelynn Harris as Enforcement Officer effective March 23, 2026, and Leandra Polzella as Court Monitor effective April 1, 2026. The Assessment Board approved veterans’ tax exemptions for three parcels and the meeting adjourned at 10:26 a.m.
All of the above motions are recorded in the meeting minutes as passing unanimously where votes are recorded as “aye.”
