Council hears updates on sewer-plant demolition schedule, Phase I water work and storm response

At the March 16 meeting Administrator Snell updated the Fredericktown Village Council on capital projects and operational matters. Snell reported progress on Phase I of the village—s water improvements and said demolition of old equipment at the sewer plant is scheduled to begin on April 6, with new equipment expected to be installed by the end of April.
Snell also said he will schedule a meeting with Jim Wagner to discuss the Historical Society deed. The minutes list no updates on the continuity of operations plan, pedestrian signs at the square, or side-by-side vehicles.
Police Chief Sheffer told council that officers handled several downed power lines over the prior weekend during a windstorm; the chief provided weekly drive reports to council. Mayor Day reminded council members to complete the Sunshine Law training via a link circulated by the fiscal officer.
Committee scheduling: Safety, Public Works and Finance committees will next meet April 20; Planning Commission dates are to be determined. Councilor Shoemaker reported the design committee met about wayfinding signs and street planters. The meeting adjourned at 7:18 p.m.
