West Chester Township trustees approved routine personnel and financial items June 10 and discussed longer‑term software and service arrangements.
Administration (Miss Brown / Miss Brownell) presented a consent agenda to hire seasonal and part‑time employees hired between April 15 and May 30; the board approved that consent agenda by roll call.
Staff described two requisitions requiring board approval: $22,000 to Butler Tech and Career Development Schools to cover tuition for two recently hired EMTs to attend paramedic school (a recruitment incentive), and $30,681.95 to OpenGov Inc. to renew the township’s annual OpenGov subscription. Administration said it is exploring alternatives to OpenGov to reduce ongoing integration and subscription costs while preserving public transparency; any change would be considered during the budget season and would depend on portability of existing data and staff time required for migration. "We're hoping we would be able to reduce that cost," Miss Brownell said, noting the township is currently on a premium tier but is evaluating options.
Trustees moved and approved the requisitions by roll call.
Administration also presented a motion to approve a 2026 third‑party administrator services contract with Sedgwick Claim Management Services, Inc. to manage Bureau of Workers' Compensation claims, not to exceed $19,920; trustees approved the contract by roll call. Staff characterized Sedgwick as a leading statewide provider and noted limited vendor options.
Finally, administration proposed a first amendment to a Butler County agreement that would reallocate about $56,000 of previously awarded grant funds (originally budgeted for two senior vans) to stormwater pipe rehabilitation. Staff said the original grant was ARPA‑derived, the senior vans came in under budget and the reallocation is an allowable use; trustees approved the amendment.
