Trustees hold brief hearing on permanent no‑parking for East Provident Drive; no public opposition reported

The West Chester Township Board held a public hearing on March 24 on a proposal to make a temporary no‑parking restriction permanent on East Provident Drive, a half‑mile dead‑end street off International Boulevard.
Captain Hegeman presented staff findings: several commercial properties (many managed by Prologis) had reported unrelated semi‑tractor trailers parking along both sides of the roadway and leaving damaged trailers in the dead end; the chief authorized a temporary no‑parking solution on Feb. 19 and staff reported that the measure has successfully dislocated the problem with no new complaints so far. The proposed change would make no parking effective for the full length of East Provident Drive on both sides.
The board invited public comment; no one spoke in favor, opposition or neutrally. The board closed the hearing and indicated it will take a vote on the ordinance at the next trustees meeting (second reading) and, if adopted, the restriction would take effect about 30 days after approval.
Captain Hegeman told trustees the temporary restriction was intended to prevent the commercial use of the roadway for vehicle storage and to remove the cost burden on the township for trailer removal.
