West Chester trustees approve hires, contracts and emergency snow‑removal resolution

Procurement and contracts: Trustees approved a $137,253.28 renewal with CentralSquare Technologies LLC for CAD/license and support for public-safety dispatch; a purchase of a 2028 ambulance through Horton Emergency Vehicles; repairs to a 2010 ladder truck; an ADA compliance audit and remediation contract for the township website; and road‑salt and pre‑treatment purchases for winter operations. Trustees also approved a two‑year contract amendment with Axon Enterprises to expand the department’s body‑worn camera devices and authorized staff to seek state body‑worn‑camera grant funding covering fiscal years 2025–27 (estimated township value ~ $79,000).
Development and appointments: The trustees approved a memorandum of understanding with Northpointe Development LLC that would dedicate funding to a proposed project west of IKEA (subject to a full development plan and a future development agreement). The board also appointed a member to the township’s Community Reinvestment Area (CRA) Housing Council to oversee tax‑exemption implementation for the Village North development.
Public‑safety and events: Trustees accepted the donation of a Barrett .50‑caliber rifle restricted for SWAT team use and approved the township’s continued participation in the Butler County OVI Task Force (the township may receive up to $11,000 for targeted enforcement). They also approved a contract allowing the township’s Touch a Truck event to take place in IKEA’s parking lot on Oct. 18.
Emergency resolution: After discussion the trustees declared and approved emergency Resolution 29‑2025 authorizing township employees to undertake snow removal on undedicated streets under agreements with property owners or developers and providing for a per‑linear‑foot charge. The board moved to declare the resolution an emergency, dispensed with the second reading, and adopted it by roll call vote.
