Key approvals: trustees approved $542,285 to the Ohio Township Association Risk Management Authority for liability and property insurance; a $77,000 purchase order to Bachman's Inc. to replace three HVAC units at the Safety Services Center; renewals for Lexipol (policy and training), Leeds Online (forensic digital data mapping) and Magnet Forensics (grima key license); and a one‑year website maintenance/hosting renewal to Granicus. The board voted to authorize donation of four surplus police vehicles to Fayetteville, Ohio and Great Oaks Public Safety Academy and authorized disposal or auction of abandoned vehicles at the police station.
Solar contract: trustees approved an agreement with Soul Systems LLC to broker solar credits and authorized the township administrator to execute non‑substantive changes with law‑director approval. Lisa Brown said staff has worked with the Internal Revenue Service to register production and that the township expects a one‑time tax‑credit payment of about $67,000 tied to the project’s registered production.
Procurement context and oversight: staff explained the insurance premium increase (roughly 16% year‑over‑year) is driven by inflation and changing exposures and that the township will evaluate facility needs more broadly for future HVAC work. On the website renewal, staff said the one‑year term was chosen while staff researches longer‑term vendors after recent performance problems.
Trustees approved the requisitions and contracts by roll call. Staff said they will continue to evaluate longer‑term procurement strategies and report back to the board.
