The Alliance Civil Service Commission elected Renee Young as chair and Matt Mohr as co‑chair at a meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026, at the City Administration Building. The commission convened at 12:30 p.m. and adjourned at 12:54 p.m.
John Gross moved to approve minutes from the Oct. 14, 2025 meeting; Matt Mohr seconded, and the commission approved the minutes by unanimous consent. Gross later moved to approve the mayor’s 2025 report; Mohr seconded and the motion passed by unanimous consent. The content of the mayor’s report was not discussed during the meeting.
Mohr moved to elect Young as chair and to elect Mohr as co‑chair; Gross seconded and the motion passed. The commission recorded the presence of Secretary Candice Martin and guests Chief Hunt and Fire Inspector Christopher Waffler.
There were no items of correspondence. With no further business, Gross moved to adjourn; Mohr seconded and the meeting ended at 12:54 p.m. The commission scheduled its next regular meeting for Feb. 17, 2026, at 12:30 p.m., to be held on the second floor of the City Administration Building, 504 East Main Street, Alliance, Ohio.
