Commission advances rule amendments; text to be posted for 30 days before public hearing

The Alliance Civil Service Commission voted on Feb. 17 to advance proposed amendments to its rules and to post the revised text for public comment.
Commission member John Gross moved to adopt two categories of changes to the commission’s rules and regulations; Renee Young seconded and the motion passed (the minutes record that all agreed). The amendments cited in the meeting record include changes to Rule 3A and Rules 4.2, 4.3, 4.3b, 4.13 and 5.3; the minutes state that the specific language is “on file.”
Matt Mohr distributed copies of the handout showing the proposed edits, explaining the package is intended to clean up position classifications for Fire and Police and to remove or clarify references to administrative ranks. After the motion passed, Mohr agreed to send the cleaned-up text to Secretary Candice Martin. Martin was directed to post the proposed rule text in the legal notices for a 30-day public posting and then post notice for a public hearing; after the public hearing and any further revisions the rules can be adopted.
