County reviews bridge engineering contracts, GIS replacement and health department camera and wiring bids

The county also discussed replacing an outdated GIS system tied to vehicle radios and noted a proposed FY budget line of approximately $1,920,000 for a new GPS/GIS system; a vendor (Motorola) was mentioned as an option for the radio/GPS replacement.
For county facilities, the health department presented a surveillance camera quote covering exterior coverage (seven new cameras and supporting hardware) and a separate quote for full-building data wiring (rack, mounts, labor) priced at $19,517.70. Staff asked for approval to move forward on the camera package and the board approved proceeding; the wiring work was planned to be completed by July 1.
Commissioners acknowledged the multi-year nature of bridge project schedules and the need to plan for budget and reimbursements while proceeding with near-term facility technology work.
