The Alliance Civil Service Commission met Oct. 14, 2025, and approved minutes from its Sept. 16 meeting after a motion from Commissioner Matt Mohr, seconded by Commissioner John Gross.
The commission noted correspondence from Safety Service Director Mike Dreger about the Assistant Fire Chief promotional process and asked Secretary Candice Martin to contact Clancy to request available dates for the Assistant Fire Chief exam during the week of Feb. 21, 2026.
Commissioner Matt Mohr moved to enter an executive session to discuss grading and promotional letters; Commissioner John Gross seconded and the commission entered executive session at 12:35 p.m. The executive session lasted until about 1:55 p.m. The commission recorded that the session covered grading and issuance of letters, certification of the sergeant promotional exam, and NTN grading for the Alliance Police Department and Alliance Fire Department. Those matters were discussed in executive session and are not detailed in the public record beyond the items listed.
With no further business after the session, Commissioner John Gross moved to adjourn, Commissioner Matt Mohr seconded, and the meeting adjourned at 2:03 p.m. The next regular meeting is scheduled for Nov. 11, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. at the City Administration Building, Second Floor Conference Room, 504 East Main Street, Alliance, Ohio.
