The council also approved Resolution No. 1874, authorizing the mayor to submit a grant application to the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office. Parks Director Aliyah Hibbs said the application requests $400,000 to relamp the current fluorescent lighting at Boise Creek and to light two currently unlit fields; Hibbs said rising costs mean the full project will total about $800,000 after leveraging $202,000 in impact fees and budgeting an additional $198,000 during the 2027 budget process. She said the grant has a 50% match requirement and staff recommended council approval to submit the application.
