OCO contract approved for 2026 nutrition program; Oswego congregate dining site to open May 12

The Oswego County Office for the Aging advisory council approved the 2026 nutrition services arrangement with Oswego County Opportunities and heard plans for a new congregate dining site in Oswego.
Sara Sunday, Aging Services Administrator, reported that the proposed nutrition contract from Oswego County Opportunities was accepted for 2026 and that the contracted per-meal cost is $8.71. Sunday also presented January–February 2026 program statistics and said home-delivered, congregate and weekend meal totals have increased. She said congregate participation is expected to grow once the Oswego site opens.
Sunday announced the new Oswego congregate dining site at the OFA facility will open to the public on May 12; Oswego County Opportunities will hold an open house on May 6 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The site will operate Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Council reviewed the OFA 2026 budget; Sunday said no cuts or changes were made and the council raised no questions. The minutes did not record a roll-call vote for the nutrition contract acceptance; the record states the contract was accepted.
