The committee called its meeting to order at 5:15 p.m., but a roll call showed only two members present, so the body did not have a quorum and could not conduct substantive business.
Staff proposed holding the next meeting on Aug. 27 at 5:15 p.m. A board member moved to schedule the meeting for that date; the motion was seconded by Chair Terry Bovona. The Clerk said, verbatim, "The only action the committee can take in the absence of a quorum is to set, a date an adjournment date for a new meeting." The motion passed by voice vote of those present with an "Aye." The Clerk then stated the meeting could be adjourned and the committee ended the session.
The Clerk read the roll call at the start of the meeting, listing Chairperson Terry Bovona, Vice Chair Ellen Paul, board member Dennis Jones and board member Denise Ritchie; responses and the Clerk's announcement indicated only two members were present. Participants apologized to members of the public for being unable to take other actions because of the lack of quorum.
Near the end of the recording a board member raised a brief question about newly planted vegetation on Vista Willow, asking whether there are plans to maintain it; the question was not completed in the available transcript.
The committee scheduled the next meeting for Aug. 27 at 5:15 p.m.; staff will need to confirm availability of absent members before any further actions are taken.
