The Village of Los Ranchos approved a midyear budget cleanup (Resolution 2025‑12‑01) on Dec. 16 that moved and added appropriations across several funds.
Finance staff explained five primary adjustments: increased capital improvements to complete a water‑rights transaction; transfers from the road fund into capital projects to cover local matches for cooperative repaving and striping; funds to match a Water Trust Board grant supporting the Agra Nature Center; allocations for facilities equipment and an interior bathroom/electrical upgrade to the Alfredo Garcia barn; and a transfer of an obsolete farm‑camp fund into special revenue to support kiosks for an edible‑trails grant. Trustees discussed adding an environmental assessment for any excavation near the historic barn and approved the resolution by roll call.
Earlier in the meeting trustees confirmed two appointments: Aaron Kellahan as Agricultural Program Director and Andrew Thorne as Farm Manager for the Agra Nature Center. Staff described both as experienced agricultural practitioners who will help revive programming and operations at the Agra Nature Center; trustees confirmed the hires by voice vote.
