Chamber reports ribbon-cuttings, Drip Coffee opening on Brookfield Avenue and fall events

Trustee Gahuli, representing the Chamber of Commerce, gave the board a summary of recent and upcoming community and business events.
Gahuli said Bill’s Place on Ogden and Mama Baron’s (change in ownership) held ribbon-cuttings since the board last met and announced the grand opening of Drip Coffee at 8420 Brookfield Avenue scheduled for Oct. 25 at 11:00 a.m. He invited trustees and residents to attend and noted that new members have joined the chamber, some from neighboring areas.
The Chamber sponsored an inaugural Witches Crawl that drew more than 80 participants, featuring costume contests, business raffles and ‘trick-or-treat for adults’ across local businesses. Gahuli also described the upcoming Monsters on Main Street (Oct. 26), which will include trick-or-treating in the downtown district and a costume contest at the Grossale Station.
Gahuli asked the community to support the farmers market (two weekends remaining this season) and acknowledged Gina (farmers market manager), who is recovering from a recent health event. Trustees and staff thanked volunteers and staff who supported recent public-works-backed events such as the duck race and Meet the Creek.
Next steps: the Chamber will continue event programming, and trustees encouraged residents to attend the announced openings and fall festivities.
