At the March 10 meeting the policy chair and district attorney (Attorney Hannah) reviewed four policies on first reading. They confirmed that the community eligibility provision had been implemented and proposed to add it into Policy EF for formal codification. Policies GCC and GDC (professional and support staff leaves) were reviewed with recommended text to clarify verification of sick leave and consider a cumulative sick leave exception for those on letter of agreement (retirees or those without annual contracts); the committee left a blank in the draft policy so the board could decide how many days retirees might accrue.
Policy KF (community use of school facilities) was presented with recommended language aligned to legal guidance and existing administrative procedures; staff will coordinate with legal counsel to update the administrative rule and the policy text before the board's next meeting. Administration and the policy committee asked that board members review the revisions that will be submitted for action the following week.
Board members thanked the policy committee for the work and noted that the formal policy changes would return for board consideration. No final policy votes were taken at this meeting — these were first‑reading discussions and drafting directions.
