The founder and board president of Radnor City Suites told the Keizer Community Diversity Engagement Committee on April 2 that the community drop-in center provides free services—including a clothing closet, food pantry and an art station—serving ‘‘over 500 community members a month.’'
The presenter said the space is low-barrier (no religious or political affiliation), fully ADA-accessible and open Wednesday through Sunday for drop-in hours (generally 11 a.m.–6 p.m.; Sundays 11 a.m.–4 p.m.), with evening shows on Sundays. The center hosts youth and family programming, offers a sober space for recovery groups and partners with local service providers.
On funding, the board president described a sustainment goal: recruiting 1,000 monthly donors at $5 each to reliably cover rent and utilities. The center reported roughly 60 current monthly sustainers and occasional grant or event income; organizers said they split proceeds from some community events with performers and rely heavily on donated supplies and volunteer labor.
Committee members asked about donations, pickup logistics, and volunteer support; the presenter said drop-off donations are easiest because the center has limited volunteer capacity for pickup. The committee offered to share contact information and follow up with local partners.
Next steps: the center will continue outreach for sustainers and volunteers and offered to remain after the meeting to answer additional questions from members.
