Alex, representing J Morton Planning and Landscape Architecture, told the commission the added building will increase the MUPD’s total building area to about 292,590 square feet and requires 36 parking spaces; the applicant said the overall site will provide 914 parking spaces, about 78 more than required. Alex said the addition occupies an underused portion of the existing parking lot and will maintain existing circulation and access points.
Staff confirmed the application meets the eight standards referenced in the staff report and recommended approval with conditions. Commissioner questions focused on whether neighbors had raised concerns; the applicant said letters were sent to nearby condominium residents and Boca West Alliance and that parking breakdowns had been coordinated.
A motion to recommend approval carried without recorded roll-call tallies in the transcript.
