Wernern addressed the board and the assembled audience, thanking managers, colleagues and the community. “It’s been a long 41 years,” he said, reflecting on his time with the village and his gratitude for working alongside staff and residents. Trustees and attendees applauded following the remarks, and the board adopted the resolution by voice vote.
The board’s recognition included a formal resolution that the clerk will enter into the record; trustees noted the community’s appreciation and wished Wernern well in retirement.
