Fairfield board approves student out-of-state trips, waives auditorium space fee for Crooked Run Baptist Church and clears personnel recommendations

During the March 17 board meeting, trustees approved a package of operational and personnel items including student travel, a facility fee waiver, and multiple human-resources recommendations.

The board approved overnight out-of-state trip requests for Fairfield Central High School (a football trip that included a college-connection tour and camp) and Fairfield Middle School (a mentoring overnight and an "amazing shake" event). Mr. Davis moved and Miss Green seconded the motion to accept the superintendent's recommendation; the motion passed by a show-of-hands vote.

The board also approved a superintendent recommendation to waive the auditorium space fee for Crooked Run Baptist Church for four nights (a $200/night space fee, totaling $800). Under board policy the church is still responsible for utility and custodian costs; the presenter estimated those remaining charges at about $900. Miss Harrison Williams moved and Mr. Davis seconded the motion, which passed by raising hands.

In Human Resources, the board approved several personnel items: certified resignations effective at the conclusion of the 2025–26 academic year, certified administrative appointments (exhibit 2), certified teacher recommendations for 2026–27 (exhibit 3), and classified staff recommendations (exhibit 4). Motions to approve the exhibits were made by Miss Harrison Williams and seconded by Miss Green or Mr. Davis as recorded; all were approved by show of hands.
