Orland Park schedules summer concerts at Centennial Park West and an America 250 parade

Reay, speaking for parks/events staff, announced a lineup of summer shows at Centennial Park West: a June 20 night featuring classic-rock tribute acts, a July 11 multi-tribute night, and an Aug. 28 event, along with a weekly Thursday concert series beginning June 11. “We’re going to have three free shows this summer,” Reay said, explaining the dates and that the program will also include six weeks of smaller concerts and activities to test market demand and support local restaurants.
Mayor Jim Dodge urged residents to register for the America 250 parade set for May 23 and said the village will pair the parade with a Memorial Day weekend barbecue and other community programming. Local businesses and nonprofits — including the chamber, the library and sponsors such as Rizza Ford and Orland Township — have agreed to participate.
Dodge framed the events as opportunities to activate public spaces while testing long-term business plans for facilities such as Centennial Park West. The village said it would pursue cost-effective programming rather than headline acts initially, and will use the summer season to evaluate attendance, vendor support and partnership models.
Staff encouraged residents to sign up and volunteer for parade logistics and to watch the village’s upcoming event pages for registration details and schedules.
