Highland View reports record spring play; Canadian geese create sanitation concerns

Highland View Manager Keith Ogolin and Recreation Coordinator Ed Heard told the board that the Ice Breaker tournament hosted 30 two-man teams across four flights and that the course has experienced the highest spring play in its history. Course memberships rose to 71 this season, up from 49 the prior year, and February brought improved revenue due to favorable weekend openings and increased simulator-team bookings.
A tentative course opening date was discussed (March 18–19 or by April 1, weather permitting). Staff reported Canadian geese are creating safety and sanitation concerns: members have complained about feces and property damage, and ropes have been used to protect greens. Ogolin said staff planned a call with Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks to discuss mitigation options; Montana Resources was cited as using blasts, lasers, drones and other options at its property.
No formal action was taken; the board received the report.
